Plein Air Practice
Each week, I take my easel outdoors to paint directly from life in the Helderberg and surrounding Winelands. These plein air studies have become a grounding ritual in my creative process — a way to respond instinctively to the shifting light, mood, and energy of the landscape. This ongoing practice continually informs and deepens my studio work, allowing me to translate fleeting impressions into larger, more layered pieces that carry the immediacy of place.
Vergelegen Wine Estate Collaboration
Steeped in heritage and framed by the Helderberg and Hottentots Holland mountain ranges, Vergelegen Wine Estate is a place of enduring beauty and I’m honoured to collaborate with them in celebrating this iconic landscape. A curated selection of my original artworks and exclusive limited edition prints is available through The Potting Shed, the Estate’s thoughtfully curated gift shop. This ongoing partnership also includes commissioned paintings for a bespoke gift card series inspired by Vergelegen’s architecture and views, as well as larger works to be unveiled later this year. I’ll also be hosting Drawing for Mindfulness workshops on the estate throughout the year, dates to be confirmed.
